After high school I applied to the Rochester Institute of Technoloy to study film, but was unable to get into the freshman class at RIT. Instead, I decided to attend MCC, the local community college, get a liberal arts degree and then I would transfer into RIT. I majored in Speech & Communications, which brought me into contact with the Theatre Department, where I also worked part time for two years. I took some basic photography and optics classes there as well.
Stagecraft was really my major interest and I did very well at it. Building sets, painting flats, running the fly, and lighting design.
