As a result of my use of computer illustrations in my proposals and my Macintosh advocacy, I became the person that received new Mac imaging, graphics, & printing software from outside vendors for beta testing with our products. I finally got my wish for a better drawing tool, when Adobe asked me to beta test Illustrator 1.0. It took some time to get used to drawing with bezier curves, but it was a powerful upgrade from MacPaint and even MacDraw.
To practice with the software I decided to create illustrations of all our products that we could use in documents. I also created some system diagrams of multiple products. Illustrator was a resolution independant illustration program, using vector information instead of pixels, it could be scaled for high resolution output devices without loss of quality.
