When I realized nothing was going to change in the next generation, I decided another proposal was in order. This was basically a computer that all the products would plug into. Both external products, like printers, storage devices and cameras, but could except specialized board products to customize the solution for specific needs, compression boards, co-processors, if boards, etc. However, due to my restriction on mentioning computers, I called it a FrameServer instead. Touch pads had just been announced I'd read in PopSci. They made sense as a remote for presentations.
This electronic imaging system is pretty much where we ended up today, although the media types have changed. It might have happened sooner though, unfortunately, it would take me two more years of proposals to affect change.
