Shortly before the end of my senior year, Eric Timmerman, our film/animation professor, gave four of us an opportunity to visit the famed Film Board of Canada in Montreal. We were treated to a tour of the facility and met a number of filmmakers as they worked in their studios. Many producing stop motion animations.
However, the most impactful thing I saw there was one of the very first computer animations being filmed. It was a simple stick figure, as computer grapics were still in their infancy, but I saw huge potential in using computers to create art. I committed then to investigate it further when the opportunity presented itself.
